Plug Fans – Low & High Temperature
Indrotech designs and manufactures purpose-built Plug industrial fans for both low-temperature and high-temperature applications.
Our low-temperature Plug fans are designed for reliable air and gas movement in general industrial processes, providing robust construction, efficient operation and dependable continuous service.
Our high-temperature Plug fans are specifically engineered for demanding furnace, oven and thermal-process applications where elevated gas temperatures require specialised materials and construction. Depending on the operating temperature and process conditions, materials can include stainless steels and high-temperature alloys such as Incoloy 800H.
Plug fans are commonly used for hot-air circulation, furnace and oven recirculation, combustion and process-air systems, drying equipment and other industrial thermal applications where reliability under continuous operating conditions is critical.
Designed, engineered and manufactured by Indrotech in Melbourne for the specific duty and operating environment.
Heavy duty Industrial Fans
All fan components are fabricated by qualified boilermakers. Our high quality assurance standards include inspecting, testing and dynamic balancing in house. Indrotech give their customers the reassurance of a guarantee that the complete assembly will withstand the system conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a plug fan a specific type of impeller?
No – plug fan describes how the fan is mounted, typically unhoused with the motor in or near the airstream, rather than a specific blade design. It can be built on a Radial Blade, Forward Curved or Axial impeller.
- Can plug fans handle continuoushigh temperatureoperation?
Yes – materials and construction are selected for ovens, furnaces and other continuous high temperature processes.
- What is a reversible plug fan?
A reversible plug fan can run in either direction, used in ovens and furnaces to distribute heat more evenly across a load.
