Spray Booth Fans
Spray Booth Fans MelbourneSpray booth supply and exhaust fans
Spray booths require carefully controlled ventilation to provide clean make-up air and safely remove paint overspray, fumes and potentially flammable vapours from the working area.
A typical spray booth ventilation system incorporates a supply air fan delivering clean filtered make-up air into the booth and an exhaust fan drawing contaminated air through the booth and discharging it safely to atmosphere. The system is designed to maintain the required airflow across the work area and direct paint overspray and vapours towards the exhaust filtration or collection system.
Wet spray booth applications,
Indrotech commonly supplies centrifugal fans fitted with Backward Inclined Laminar impellers. Their robust, open blade construction makes them well suited to industrial air-handling duties where contamination and paint residue may be present in the exhaust system.
Dry-filter spray booths
Centrifugal or axial-flow fans may be used depending on the required airflow, system resistance and booth configuration. The fan selection must take into consideration the presence of flammable paint vapours and overspray within the exhaust air stream.
Where a potentially flammable atmosphere is present, the exhaust fan is designed with appropriate spark-resistant construction, adequate clearances and electrical grounding. Motors and other electrical equipment are selected and positioned to suit the applicable hazardous-area classification and relevant safety requirements.
Indrotech designs and manufactures spray booth fans to suit the individual air volume, pressure, filtration system, booth configuration and operating environment of each application.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need one fan or two for my spray booth?
Most spray booths run a supply fan for clean air in, and a separate exhaust fan for contaminated air out. We can supply either or both.
- What is the difference between a wet and dry spray booth fan?
Wet spray booths typically use a Backward Inclined Laminar fan for supply air. Dry spray booths generally use an Axial fan for both supply and exhaust.
- Can you supply a spray booth fan in a material that resists corrosive coatings?
Yes – our Axial fans can be sourced in a poly material, suited to booths handling solvents or corrosive finishes.
